The mission of our association, Boys in the Yard, is dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through sports in general, socio-cultural activities, and social integration.
Our main objective is to give a sense of direction to these young individuals who, for various reasons, feel lost. Many of them suffer from a lack of father figures and role models. We are here to tell them that we are present to support, encourage, and guide them. Through basketball, cricket, soccer, volleyball, and boxing, we aspire to help them become great citizens, responsible leaders, and exemplary fathers. We want them to be a light in dark times, not only for themselves but also for their community.
We firmly believe that sports can create powerful social bonds and break down the barriers that hold our youth back. By pushing them to their limits, we aim to bring out the best in them, so they can become champions both on and off the field. We are committed to teaching them the fundamentals of the game while developing their minds, bodies, and souls.
The Boys in the Yard association is not limited to young basketball players. We have also expanded our reach to include cultural events, creating a space where every child in Saint Martin can express their creativity. Through our project, an artist named OSWALD, who was the King of Compas, has reached superstar status, proving that our approach can be fruitful. We have also seen other talents emerge on the international stage, and we wish to replicate this success in the sports field.
In 2025, we are back, more determined than ever to tackle one of the greatest challenges of our time: fighting crime and delinquency. We believe that our sports and cultural activities can play a key role in this battle. By providing a positive and stimulating environment, we hope to steer young people away from violence and destructive behaviors.
