At the heart of this vision is the creation of the Hoop Dream Academy, an inspiring program designed to develop the skills of young players, enhance their potential, and open pathways to schools, national teams, and even professional leagues.
Partnerships & International Integration
To maximize opportunities for our young talents, Boys in the Yard will establish strategic partnerships with renowned basketball camps and academies abroad. These collaborations will promote talent identification, advanced training, and seamless integration into high-level school or professional teams around the world, positioning our players on the international basketball stage.
Our Strategic Objectives
Our project is based on three fundamental pillars, complemented by nine operational goals:
Elevating Skills and Values of Youth:
Cultivating a culture of excellence based on values such as discipline, perseverance, respect, tolerance, and competitive spirit. We believe that true athletic progress combines joy, friendship, and the sense of effort necessary for success.
Ensuring the Future of Mini Basketball:
Supporting the development of our youngest players (Baby / Mini Peanuts) by pursuing the "Mini Basketball School" label, fostering engagement from a young age, and teaching the fundamentals.
Enhancing Coach Qualification and Training:
Implementing continuous professional development for coaches, encouraging certification and ongoing training through specialized courses (OTM, referee training, 3x3 basketball). Supervision and mentoring will ensure consistent quality.
Standardizing Player Training and Progression:
Developing a coherent training program based on a shared framework that guides players to higher categories. This approach will ensure gradual growth and increase the overall sporting level of the club.
Focusing on Youth Talent Development:
Prioritizing the progression of players from Boys in the Yard and our key partner clubs through targeted training and exposure to enhance their performance in competitions.
Giving Young Players an Active Role within the Club:
Involving the youth in club life through responsibilities such as managing match sheets, refereeing, assisting in training, and taking on leadership roles to foster citizenship and a sense of responsibility.
Strengthening Parental & Volunteer Involvement:
Developing and diversifying our volunteer network by actively involving parents and members to ensure a vibrant future and the community spirit of the club.
Developing Local & International Partnerships:
Pursuing collaboration with clubs from Saint Martin, the Caribbean, the United States, Europe, and beyond. This network will facilitate talent exchanges, advanced training, and opportunities for players to reach higher levels of competition.
Contributing to National Basketball Development:
Positioning Boys in the Yard as a creator of various international tournaments: U18 Caribbean Invitational, Royal Rumble international female basketball, Last team standing, and Roots Afro-Carib Basketball Tournament. We are a key partner in the basketball ecosystem in Saint Martin, supporting initiatives such as regional championships and the national training center, in line with the ambitions of the Basketball Committee.
Hoop Dream Academy: Building Futures
A cornerstone of our strategy is the establishment of the Hoop Dream Academy, designed to bridge the gap between grassroots talent and high-level basketball. This academy will foster skill development, tactical understanding, and leadership among youth, while serving as a platform to showcase their talents.
Global Pathways
Through our partnerships with international basketball camps and academies, young players will have access to exposure opportunities, training camps, and scouting networks. This integration aims to help talented athletes transition to school teams, national selections, or professional leagues on a global scale.
